The #1 ranked Syracuse Orange mens basketball team routed DePaul 87-68 in front of over 12,000 fans at the Allstate Arena in Chicago on New Year's Day. The win improves the Orange to 15-0 on the season on the first day of 2012.

I returned to my alma mater, East Syracuse-Minoa High School Tuesday morning, in an effort to promote a charity basketball game that ES-M is teaming up with CNY Central on. The game this Saturday at ES-M High School at 7 p.m. and is benefitting Helping Hounds Dog Rescue.

ES-M has been eliminated by New Hartford three out of the last four years in the sectional playoffs. Whether that was on the ES-M Spartans' minds or not is unclear, but ES-M avenged those losses in a way trouncing its rival 56-6 at ES-M High School.
