The RV/#24 Syracuse women's basketball team is off to the best start in program history after a 75-59 victory against Providence at the Carrier Dome. The win set a new program mark, besting the 2007-08 season record of 17-4 in its first 21 games. Carmen Tyson-Thomas led the Orange (18-3, 6-2 BIG EAST) in scoring with 15 points for the fourth time this season.

Elashier Hall made two free throws with .4 seconds left to give Syracuse women's basketball (6-0) a thrilling 74-73 victory vs. Virginia (4-1) on Saturday at the Mario Morales Coliseum. The undefeated Orange went 2-0 at the San Juan Shootout as it defeated another ACC foe, Georgia Tech, on Friday, 75-72 in overtime.

Alexander increased her career point total to 1,008. She becomes the 21st player in school history to score 1,000 points in her career.

Toledo (27-8) outscored the Orange 9-6 in overtime to end -/rv Syracuse’s (25-10) WNIT run in the quarterfinals with a 71-68 loss at Savage Arena on Sunday. The Orange finished another fantastic season, posting 25 wins, which match a program high. Syracuse also achieved this feat during the 2009-10 campaign.
