I returned to my alma mater, East Syracuse-Minoa High School Tuesday morning, in an effort to promote a charity basketball game that ES-M is teaming up with CNY Central on. The game this Saturday at ES-M High School at 7 p.m. and is benefitting Helping Hounds Dog Rescue.

A bevy of sporting events were either postponed, had their start times moved up or had their format altered in the days leading up to a storm that was predicted to cut a destructive path up the eastern seaboard, with its effects reaching all the way to Canada. Others tried to defy the expected conditions.

Trucks and helicopters were still dumping snow onto Cypress Mountain on Monday in an effort to get the Olympic venues ready for the Vancouver Games, which open Friday.
