The RV/#24 Syracuse women's basketball team is off to the best start in program history after a 75-59 victory against Providence at the Carrier Dome. The win set a new program mark, besting the 2007-08 season record of 17-4 in its first 21 games. Carmen Tyson-Thomas led the Orange (18-3, 6-2 BIG EAST) in scoring with 15 points for the fourth time this season.

The undefeated Orange went 2-0 at the San Juan Shootout as it defeated another ACC foe, Georgia Tech, on Friday, 75-72 in overtime.
