SYRACUSE -- Syracuse University Athletics has confirmed that Eric Devendorf has officially signed on with an NBA agent, and therefore will not be back with the Syracuse Orange next season. As we told you last week, Devendorf signed on with the sports agency CGL Sports out of Atlanta after officially entering his name into the NBA Draft earlier this month.

NCAA rules stipulate that once a player signs with an agent he can no longer return to his NCAA team. Former SU guard Jonny Flynn also signed with an agent earlier this month.

SU Assistant Coach Mike Hopkins says it's bittersweet to see both players go. "We look at this basketball program as a family," says Hopkins, "it's an emotional type of deal, and to see these three guys put their names in the league, obviously we're happy for them but it's very, very emotional and we just wish them all the success in the world and hope they have great careers and hope they bleed Orange for the rest of their lives."

SU Athletics was not able to confirm whether Paul Harris has signed with an agent, although he has entered his name into the NBA Draft.
