SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Orange Head Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim has told The Sporting News that he plans on starting Jamesville-DeWitt star Brandon Triche at point guard next season, and that Triche will be better “by a long shot” than Jonny Flynn.
While Boeheim does not say that Triche is a better player than Flynn, he does say he’s better suited to spread the ball around to everyone, and that will help the Orange excel in the Big East next season.
Flynn has hired an agent and is expected to be a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. Eric Devendorf and Paul Harris have also entered the draft, but Harris has not yet hired representation.
