SYRACUSE -- Bishop Ludden has been looking forward to this game for a long time, ever since Latavius Murray and the Onondaga Tigers knocked them on the first week of the season back in 2007. Friday night, the Gaelic Knights got their revenge, and then some.
Senior quarterback John Rooney led his team with six total touchdowns en route to a 53-8 blowout. The Gaelic Knights scored early and often Friday night, with John Rooney scoring the first of his many touchdowns on a six yard quarterback keeper.
Omar Osbourne added to the lead a few minutes later with a nine yard touchdown run.
Then Rooney went to work again, getting his first touchdown through the air on a 36-yard strike to expand the lead to 21. From there, it was just a matter of how many points Bishop Ludden would score in this one.
With the win the Gaelic Knights improve to 2-0 while the Tigers drop to 1-1.
