TAMPA, FL (AP) -- Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Tuck is questionable for the New York Giants' game this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tuck hurt his left shoulder last Sunday night against the Cowboys when tripped by tackle Flozell Adams. He has not practiced all week and coach Tom Coughlin said Friday he was 50-50 for the game in Tampa, Fla.
Coughlin also said defensive tackle Chris Canty (calf), receiver Hakeem Nicks (foot), linebacker Clint Sintim (groin), cornerback Aaron Ross (hamstring) and running back Danny Ware (elbow) would not play.
Besides Tuck, the Giants (2-0) said cornerback Kevin Dockery (hamstring), receiver Domenik Hixon (knee) and offensive lineman Adam Koets (ankle) are questionable.
Bills: Buffalo Bills rookie tight end Shawn Nelson didn't practice and is doubtful for Sunday's game against New Orleans because of a strained shoulder. If Nelson doesn't play, the Bills will be down to two tight ends, Derek Fine and Jonathan Stupar. Nelson hurt his shoulder in Buffalo's win over Tampa Bay last week.
Jets: New York cornerbacks Lito Sheppard and Donald Strickland are out for the team's game against Tennessee. Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez was listed as probable Friday, as expected, and will play Sunday despite some tendinitis in his right knee. He appeared to be fine at practice and was a full participant. Neither Sheppard (right quadriceps) nor Strickland (right ankle) practiced this week.
Also around the NFL:
Patriots: Receivers Wes Welker and Randy Moss were listed as questionable for Sunday's game after they missed practice Friday. Welker missed last Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets with a right knee injury and is expected to be a game-time decision. Moss was present for the start of practice Friday, but didn't participate in team drills due to a back injury.
Chargers: LaDainian Tomlinson has been ruled out of the San Diego Chargers' home game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the second straight game he'll miss due to a sprained right ankle. Tomlinson was hurt in a season-opening win at Oakland and missed last Sunday's home-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens. This will be only the third time Tomlinson, the NFL's MVP in 2006, has missed a game due to injury in his brilliant nine-year career.
Browns: After a spirited practice, the Cleveland Browns were still in a playful mood so they decided to pull a prank one of their rookies. Coye Francies didn't care for the joke. The first-year cornerback, incensed over being soaked with water by some of his teammates, threw a bucket of ice and at least one errant punch during a skirmish in the Browns' locker room on Friday. Later after dressing, Francies had cooled down enough to smile. "It's all just fun and games," he said. "We were just playing around." Later, a regretful Francies went to coach Eric Mangini's office to explain what happened and acknowledged he had overreacted.
