SYRACUSE -- Liverpool got off to a quick start on Senior Night in the Carrier Dome as they rolled past Christian Brothers Academy 35-7 in the Toyota High School Game of the Week.

The Warriors had everything working right from the start. An 80 yard kickoff return by Tyland Thompson in the first quarter set the tone for the rest of the game.

Cam Jones would take care of the rest as he threw for three touchdowns, including two to wide receiver Ethan Vanmarter. The Warriors showed off their balanced offensive attack in the third quarter as Mike Donitzen would rush in for a 14 yard score.

On the other side of the ball, the Warriors defense was everywhere. They forced four interceptions and were constantly putting pressure on the Brothers' quarterback. Liverpool head coach David Mancuso said he loved seeing orange jerseys all over the field on defense.

“The kids paid attention, watched film and they executed,” Mancuso said. "Defensively they swarmed to the football, and that’s the key.”

The season is not over yet for the Warriors (5-1) and their 32 seniors as they visit their rivals from Cicero-North Syracuse next Friday night.

CBA drops to 3-3 on the year and will travel to Central Square next Friday.
