The "Star Wars Cup" will remain in Liverpool for at least one more year as the Warriors win in overtime 20-14 at Cicero-North Syracuse tonight. In a game which had sloppy play from both sides went right down to the wire.

With only a 6-0 lead at halftime, the Northstars could not get their offense going in the 3rd quarter and Warriors were able to capitalize by scoring twice on two touchdowns by Tyland Thompson.

In the 4th quarter after a C-NS interception, the Northstars would drive the ball all the way down to the four yard line, only to be stuffed on 4th and goal. With time running out all the Warriors had to do was run out the clock, but a fumble by Tyland Thompson with just over two minutes left gave the ball back to the Northstars. C-NS would capitalize and Tom Padula would run it in from two yards out with only 33 seconds left in the game. Having to go for a two point conversion, Northstar quarterback pitched it to Padula again for the game tying score.

On the Northstars' first possession in overtime a bad snap lead to a fumble recovery by the Warriors. A few plays later, Paris Stenson would run it in from two yards for the game winner. Liverpool Coach Dave Mancuso said he knows his team made a lot of mistakes tonight, but coming out with a win shows just how good they are.

"When things are going great, it's great. But when things are going tough our kids didn't quit," Mancuso said. I don't know how many mistakes we made in the first half and our kids kept their cool and settled down."

Liverpool improves to 6-1 heading into the playoffs and C-NS drops to 4-3
