ITHACA (AP) -- Cornell University will retire the jerseys of former hockey stars Ken Dryden and Joe Nieuwendyk before a game with Union on Feb. 26.

Dryden was a three-time All-America goalie who led Cornell to the NCAA championship in 1967 and posted a 76-4-1 career record.

He played nine years with the Montreal Canadiens, where he won six Stanley Cups and five Vezina Trophies, an award given to the league's best goaltender.

Nieuwendyk, currently the general manager of the Dallas Stars, was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Year in 1987 and was named the league's top rookie in 1985.

He signed with the Calgary Flames after his junior year. Nieuwendyk won three Stanley Cups and tallied 564 goals and 562 assists in a 21-year career in the NHL.
