MORRISVILLE -- Samantha Leamer is more than deserving of the Action News Athlete honor. Not only is she a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Morrisville-Eaton girls soccer team, she also portrays leadership beyond her years off the field as well. Samantha recently traveled to New Orleans with other students from around Central New York to help rebuild the areas ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.
Samantha’s great maturity has translated into success for the Morrisville-Eaton girls soccer team. The team has made sectional playoffs three out of the last four years, and Leamer’s 20 goals in the past two seasons are a big reason why. Leamer’s coaches and teammates concur that her leadership and play on the field has helped immensely, but if you ask Samantha, she says, she’s just trying to have fun out there.
Leamer will be attending college next year, but is undecided at this point as to where she will go, although she hopes to go for nursing, and would welcome the opportunity to play soccer in the future.
Congratulations to Samantha Leamer, this week’s Dunkin’ Donuts Action News Athlete!
