It was a busy sports night in the area as the high school basketball season officially kicked off across Central New York. Lamar Kearse and the Jamesville-DeWitt varsity boys team rolled past Chittenango 93-38.

Bishop Ludden also won big, topping Homer 70-21.

Fowler gave Christian Brothers Academy a battle until the end, but in the end Pat Wiese finished with 22 points, helping his CBA team past Fowler 52-43.

Westhill also started the season on a high note, beating Jordan-Elbridge 63-33.

On the girls side, Jamesville-DeWitt had no problems with Chittenango, winning 47-16.
