In Cicero, the Cicero-North Syracuse hockey team took a 1-0 lead early on Penfield but eventually lost to the visitors from the Rochester area, 3-1.
West Genesee basketball also hosted a team from an hour or so west on I-90, and like the Northstars, the 'Cats came out on the short end 54-52. It marked the second game in a row that West Genesee had lost after missing a buzzer-beater chance to win.
