Even when West Genesee won a New York State Championship in 2007, it didn't finish the regular season undefeated. So the fact that Wildcats are 7-0 heading into Sectional Playoffs is truly a statement.

West Genny battled back from a 22-9 halftime deficit to Henninger, beating the Black Knights 25-22 at a wind-whipped Sunnycrest Park on Saturday. From the get-go in the second half the Wildcats stormed back, on its very first posession of the half NaSean Howard broke off a 40 yard run to get the 'Cats inside the 10 yard line, he'd punch it in for a touchdown a couple plays later for the score. Howard finished with 85 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns in the victory. Dan Ginestro threw for 125 yards and one touchdown pass in the win.

West Genesee, as is the case with the rest of Section III, will learn its playoff seed and first round opponent on Sunday.
