This week's CNY Central Athlete comes to us from LaFayette where cross-country runner Tom Sargent is making the Lancers proud.
Sargent, for the second year in a row, qualified for the New York State Cross-Country Meet. He did so by finishing 2nd at the Section III meet this fall, and he finished 18th among the best runners in the state at the tournament.
It's not just his running ability that's impressive though, his coach tells us that Tom is essentially a second coach out there for him both in meets and in practice.
That leadership ability has served him well, as Tom has earned the right to attend the U.S. Naval Academy upon his graduation in the summer,
