ORCHARD PARK, NY (AP) -- New York's governor is calling for millions of dollars in state funding to help keep the Buffalo Bills in western New York.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo's listing of "critical economic development investments" includes retaining the professional football franchise.

The Bills are the only NFL team to play in New York, with the Giants and Jets playing in New Jersey.

The team would be eligible for part of an $84 million fund to be shared by several economic development interests. A specific amount hasn't been determined.

The Bills want upgrades to their stadium. The team's lease expires in 2013, after which the Bills could move from Orchard Park.
