The high school basketball season in Central New York is winding down, and schools are fighting for playoff positioning.

On Monday night, several schools took to the hardwood, hoping to better their chances for the postseason.

At Bishop Grimes, it was a rivalry renewed as the Cobras hosted Bishop Ludden. This game was extremely competitive from the opening tip to the final horn sounded. Ludden led by a single point at the end of the third quarter, but the Cobras ralled to earn a 53-47 victory. Jordan Vaught led the way with 16 points for Grimes, as the Cobras improved to 14-4 on the season, 8-4 in league play. Ludden has just as many losses in league play, while Westhill is unbeaten. Lauren Roy led the way for the Gaelic Knights with 17 points.

Over at Jamesville-Dewitt, the Red Rams led handily through three quarters over Phoenix, but showed its dominance in the final quarter. J-D outscored the Firebirds 20-0 in the fourth quarter, en route to a 65-31 victory. With the win, J-D remains perfect on the season at 16-0.
