Thursday is the NFL Draft
Chandler Jones is the most anticipated NFL draftee out of Syracuse University for quite some time, and tonight could be the defensive end’s big night.
According to most NFL experts, Jones’ stock has risen more than any other player entered in the NFL draft.
After originally being projected as a third round pick, he is now expected by many to hear his name called in the first round. Jones, however, will not buy into that theory until it becomes a reality.
He told ESPN.com that he is keeping his emotions in check as he celebrates draft night with his family.
"My mom always gets mad at me when I say this, but I'm going into the draft with the impression that I'm going in the third round," Jones told ESPN. "Whenever I do get picked, it's going to be shocking to me. I just want to play football again and be an impact player, but as far as going in the first round it would be a dream come true."
Jones plans on watching the draft with his famous brother, light heavyweight champion Jon Bones Jones, at his house.
It’ll be the second gathering of it’s kind after the family met there on the night Chandler’s older brother Arthur was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens.
