Jamesville-Dewitt boys lacrosse won its 4th consecutive Section III championship. While that is awfully impressive, what's also admirable is how well some of Coach Jamie Archer's players represent the team off the field.
A perfect example of this, is senior Deke Burns who not only stars for the Red Rams but stars in the classroom as well. Burns' combined athletic ability and academic prowess has earned him a spot in the Ivy League at Harvard University.
Certainly Burns is beyond excited to play for the Crimson next season. For now though, his focus is helping the powerhouse J-D lacrosse program win another New York State championship. That quest begins in the quarterfinals of the state tournament this Saturday.
