The Syracuse Orange basketball season may not get going for another four months or so, but this summer the stars of the Orange will be shining in Utica.

It's all part of the "King of Kings" tournament in Utica, which is one of just seven NCAA-sanctioned summer leagues in the nation.

The "J-D's finest" team features three Orange players in Jamesville-Dewitt alums DaJuan Coleman, Brandon Triche, and their Orange teammate Michael Carter-Williams.

The trio won their first game of the summer, 73-60 on Monday night, but more importantly it's providing the fans, and the players themselves a "preview", as Carter-Williams called it, of the 2012-2013 SU season.

"We get a feel being with each other, next to each other on the court (in this tournament) so I'm looking forward to it" said Coleman.

The men's portion of the league plays on Mondays and Wednesday nights, for more information on the summer you can visit the King of Kings website.
