There was lots of pink, along with Hollywood star power, at Alliance Bank Stadium on Friday night, as the Syracuse Chiefs hosted Norfolk. It was the second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night at the ballpark helping to raise money for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of Central New York. Carol M. Baldwin and her son, actor Billy Baldwin threw out the ceremonial first pitch, and also hosted a "Pink Cocktail Party" in Alliance Bank Stadium's Hank Sauer Room. The foundation gives $250,000 worth of grants to SUNY Upstate Medical every year for breast cancer research.

"I'm telling you, we will find something, we will," says Carol Baldwin of the search for a cure, "we've got to stop this, and if we keep working and working and working we'll find something."

As Billy Baldwin watched the Chiefs game with his wife, actor Chynna Phillips, he reflected on what the foundation is all about, and what he hopes will be achieved.

"One is support for those and their families who are afflicted with the disease, says Baldwin, "number two is to raise awareness about annual detection, and third, of course, research grants to finally find a cure and make this all part of our past."

The Chiefs wore black and pink jerseys, many using pink bats and gloves, as they beat the Norfolk Tides 6-5. And while Baldwin is a big Yankees fan, claiming he "bleeds pinstripes", he expressed his devotion to his hometown team.

"This is my triple-a squad of choice, if fact, I'm thinking about adopting the Nationals as my National League team. I live on the west coast now and I like the Dodgers and I like the Giants, but I think the Nationals could be my National League team."
