Ryan Nassib is enjoying a career, and program year.

The senior signal caller from Pennsylvania has thrown for 1,139 yards this season which is good enough for #2 in all of FBS NCAA Football. Nassib is less than 100 yards behind the top spot in total passing yards.

Perhaps most impressively, Nassib is 4th in the country in touchdown passes with 9 so far, with only 3 interceptions on his record as well. Nassib is also 4th in the nation in pass completions and attempts, he's throwing at a clip of 66% accuracy too.

As Nassib goes, so does the Orange. It's been no secret Syracuse's offense has struggled in the first half of games--direct evidence of that? 8 of Nassib's 9 touchdown passes have come in the 2nd half of games.

Syracuse hopes Nassib can get hot early and stay that way in Saturday's game at Minnesota (8:00 p.m., Big Ten Network). The Golden Gophers feature a solid pass defense.

Still though, with a passer rating of over 147, if Nassib can keep his high quality of play going, Syracuse could be destined for great things in 2012.
