It's an unprecedented scene in Section III, the playoffs starting a week earlier for just one class- Class C.

The reason is because there are just so many teams in the second smallest, by enrollment, group in Section III that a 5-2 Bishop Ludden team was actually left out of the playoffs last year. So instead of 8 teams making it in, Section III expanded the Class C tournament into two divisions, C-1 and C-2.

Well, Ludden would've made it either way this year, and they showed they plan on making the most of their playoff opportunity this year.

The Gaelic Knights rolled past Altmar-Parish-Williamstown 43-14 on Friday night, in a game that more or less was decided by the end of the first quarter when the Knights sported a 29-8 lead.

Corey Wilkinson rushed for 204 yards and four touchdowns in the win, which sets up Bishop Ludden for an epic Class C-1 quarterfinal matchup next weekend with the top seeded Skaneateles Lakers.
