The Section 3 High School Football playoff matchups are set and one team brings something to this postseason that no other in Class AA can. The West Genesee Wildcats are the defending Section 3 champions and for Coach Joe Corley he knows everyone is watching his team. “I think the target is still on our backs until we get knocked and I think the kids know that.”

The Wildcats are the 5th seed in the playoffs and will face the 4th seeded Liverpool Warriors this week, and while the two teams haven’t played each other so far this season it’s the depth in Section 3 that make the playoffs exciting, “It’s pretty even across the board, anybody can beat anybody any week so it’s very exciting” Corley said.

If they want to become back to back sectional champions the Wildcats will likely rely heavily on Naesean Howard. The junior running back leads his team with 1205 rushing yards, 172 rushing yards per game, and 21 total touchdowns. Howard ranks second in Section 3 only to Baldwinsville’s Tyler Rouse in rushing yards and total points.

The game will be held at Liverpool on 10/19 at 7pm.
