The new-look Syracuse Crunch finally took to the War Memorial ice Saturday and gave fans the teams first win of the season. After a tough overtime loss the night before against Rochester, the defending Calder Cup champions defeated the Hershey Bears 4-3.

Monday marked the annual Crunch golf outing where the players get to meet the media, fans, and friends of the team. It was at this event, at McConnellsville Golf Course that left winger Cory Conacher wasn’t satisfied with the three points earned, saying four points would have been better.

“To come from a team last year where most guys were part of the 28 game win streak, we expect to win every game” Conacher said. He was named the CCM/AHL player of the week totaling 5 points, he was also the AHL rookie of the year last season.

The Crunch return to Syracuse for a matchup with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Oct. 27 at 7:30 pm.
