The Section III football playoffs were in full swing Friday night, with most of the top seeds in action, skirting upset bids by those upstart 7 and 8 seeds.

Christian Brothers Academy hosted Utica Proctor in a game that was delayed because of lightning as showers and thunder passed through Dewitt around game time. CBA jumped out to an early 7-6 lead, but a back and forth battle ensued in the first half, as Proctor put a scare into the Brothers after a Chris Simmons touchdown, putting Utica Proctor up 14-7.

CBA put on a clinic for the rest of the game though, pounding Utica Proctor 56-33.

Liverpool (4 seed) and West Genesee (5 seed) met in another Class AA matchup. The seeds were extremely accurate, as Liverpool held an 18-15 halftime lead, which turned into a see saw battle throughout the second half. Liverpool extended their lead after halftime, taking a 25-15 following an Anthony Miller touchdown.

That was the last time Liverpool would score though, as West Genesee scored 21 unanswered points, en route to a 36-25 victory.
