Nottingham's Section III Championship season ends vs. Union-Endicott

ES-M wasn't playing in the Class A State Championship quarter-finals but, their field did play host to the Section 3 and Section 4 champions on Friday between Nottingham and Union-Endicott, out Toyota High School Game of the Week.

It was Union-Endicott getting on the board first, running back Michael Cleslock took the hand off at the 20 yard line and with a few moves found the back of the end-zone to give the tigers a 7-0 lead. But Nottingham answered right back with a Marty Clanton touchdown of their own, and with the 2-point conversion they took a short lived 8-7 lead.

The big play of the game came late in the second quarter after catching at touchdown ten minutes earlier Nick Yesensky scores six while the defensive touchdown, 44 yards on the return and Union-Endicott extends their lead and goes on to win 34-23.

"We played great up front" Tigers Head Coach Shane Hurd said, " It opens up the running and the passing lanes, the whole offensive line played a great game."

Nottingham came into Friday's game having won their first Section III Title in 32 years, and their only their second Sectional title of all time.
