UTICA -- On Monday, December 10, Utica police responded to Brayton Park Place in Utica to help a tow truck driver with a repossession of a vehicle.

The driver tried to find the owner, Darnell Pete, but was told he was not at home, police say. So the driver proceeded to load the vehicle onto his truck when Pete came from inside the house, yelling at the driver.

A woman, Danielle Gary, then jumped on top of the truck’s lift and refused to let the driver leave with the vehicle.

Pete threatened to get a gun to shoot the driver, which prompted the driver to call the police.

In the meantime, Pete got a shovel and smashed the front windshield of the tow-truck.

When police arrived they tried to get Gary off of the truck, but she would not cooperate.

Both were arrested, and the tow truck driver was able to finish his job.

Danielle Gary was charged with criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration.

Darnell Pete was charged with criminal mischief.
