UTICA -- A South Carolina man was arrested in Utica for allegedly entering a ladies’ bathroom and forcing an 18-year-old woman into a stall.

Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputies say 20-year-old Kaylon Brooks Pruitt, of Orangeburg, South Carolina, went into the women’s public restroom at the Oneida County Office Building on December 28th and grabbed the female, forcing her into a stall. He allegedly told the girl not to yell.

She screamed and Pruitt immediately ran from the building.

Deputies say they were able to identify Pruitt from surveillance footage and Oneida County Social Services employees.

Pruitt was arrested later at the Rescue Mission in Utica.

Deputies say Pruitt claimed to be homeless.

He was charged with unlawful imprisonment, criminal trespass, menacing, and harassment. Pruitt was arraigned on December 29th and is in Oneida County Jail in lieu of $3,500 bail.
