SCRIBA -- An Owego man was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated after he lead police on a chase from Oswego to Scriba.

Police say they observed 42-year-old Ronald J. Bisnett fail to stop for several stop signs in the area of East Seneca Street and East Ninth Street in Oswego around 1:11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police say they attempted to stop Bisnett, but he sped off, leading police to chase him out of the city on East Seneca Street.

Bisnett crashed into a snow bank at the intersection of Country Route 1 and Country Route 63 in the Town of Scriba.

As police instructed Bisnett to exit his vehicle, he backed the vehicle into a police car, disabling it, and drove off again.

Police located the vehicle Bisnett had been driving off the road near the intersection of Middle Road and Creamery Road in the Town of Scriba.

Police followed tracks in the snow and soon located Bisnett walking in the roadway.

Bisnett was treated by EMS for injuries from the crash and taken to Upstate Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police charged Bisnett with unlawful fleeing a police officer, driving while intoxicated, criminal mischief, reckless driving, and several other vehicle and traffic violations.

Bisnett was issued with appearance tickets at the hospital and released from custody with a return court date at Oswego City Court on January 3.

Police say the investigation is continuing and further charges may be filed.
