SYRACUSE -- A fire on Kenwood Avenue in Syracuse Saturday has left six people without a home.

Firefighters were on the scene at 305 Kenwood Ave., fighting what didn’t appear to be a very big fire.

District Fire Chief Kent Young told CNY Central that there was only a little smoke when they arrived, but after opening the door, flames erupted from the building.

No one was injured in the fire, and the Red Cross was there to assist the people displaced.

A neighbor helped the family while the red cross found a place for them to say.

Red Cross officials say the family lost all their belongings in the fire.

There is no word on the cause of the fire.
