HERKIMER -- A State trooper was involved in a crash in Herkimer County this morning.

It happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of State Street and North Washington Street in the Village of Herkimer.

30-year-old Trooper Nathan Harder was traveling in a marked State Police vehicle east on State Street en route to a domestic dispute.

Police say 30-year-old Jessica Gilmartin, of Jordanville, was traveling south on North Washington Street and entered the intersection of State Street with a green traffic light. Police say Trooper Harder was driving with his lights activated through a red light and struck Gilmartin's car.

Trooper Harder was taken to Little Falls Hospital with neck, left shoulder and left wrist pain. He was treated and released.

Gilmartin was taken to Little Falls Hospital for abdominal abrasion and pain where she was treated and released.

The investigation continues.
