The dust has settled, but it's still a hard fact to believe for fans of SU mens lacrosse.

The Orange dropped its season opener for the first time since 1996 and the first time ever under John Desko.

Syracuse also fell to Albany for the first time ever.

The question now is, what does this mean for the rest of the season?

Vote in our poll below for your thoughts on how the Orange will (or won't) bounce back for the rest of the season.'

Despite the loss, JoJo Marasco was named to the Big East honor roll for his 8-point performance, below is SU Athletics' release on that:

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse men’s lacrosse senior midfielder JoJo Marasco (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, Feb. 18 for his performance in the Orange’s 16-15 double-overtime loss to Albany yesterday. Marasco scored a career-best eight points (three goals, five assists) against the Great Danes.

Six of Marasco’s eight points came in the second half as the Orange rallied from deficits of 13-9 and 14-10 to eventually force overtime. He assisted on three of SU’s five fourth-quarter goals, including Dylan Donahue’s (Camillus, N.Y.) equalizer with 2:52 left in regulation.

Marasco’s eight points were the most in one game for an SU player since Kenny Nims had eight against Providence in 2009.

Brian Casey (Georgetown), JT Weber (Providence), Nick DePaolera (Rutgers) and Kieran McArdle (St. John’s) joined Marasco on the weekly honor roll.

Notre Dame’s Jim Marlatt had six points, including five goals, in the Irish’s 13-5 win against Duke to earn BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors. Notre Dame goalie John Kemp was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for his 10-save effort versus the Blue Devils.
