SYRACUSE -- There are lake snow warnings in effect for Oswego, Jefferson and Lewis counties and some areas east of Lake Ontario could see 3 to 6 inches to more than a foot of snow on Wednesday.

View any school closings.

There is a travel advisory issued for southern Lewis County.

Wednesday night will be windy and cold with lake effect snow and snowshowers.

The Syracuse area is expected to get light snow showers and flurries and could see up to an inch of snow by 7 PM. Some areas in the hills south of Syracuse-around Tully and Cortland-could see 1 to 3 inches.

The snow is expected to weaken on Thursday but it will remain cold and blustery.
