PARISH -- Two shotgun shells were found at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School.

A letter was sent home to families in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District on Wednesday said two shotgun shells were found in the trash can of the fourth, fifth and sixth grade section of the cafeteria.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office was notified about the shells, and an exhaustive search was conducted, including all of the lockers, for any other items that could be considered dangerous, according to the letter. The shells were disposed of.

Deputies say nothing else was found during the search.

The note said that the child who brought the shells to school was found and sent home with their parents.
