NEW YORK CITY -- The Syracuse Men's Basketball team continued their hot shooting against Pittsburgh, riding James Southerland and Brandon Triche once again to a 62-59 victory over the Panthers.

SU and Pitt went back and forth at the beginning of the half, but a CJ Fair buzzer-beater three-pointer at the end of the half gave the Orange a 40-27 halftime lead. Pittsburgh continued to stay in the game througout the second half, with Tray Woodall making clutch threes of his own.

But, behind Southerland's 20 points and 6 for 6 from threes, and with CJ Fair and Triche pitching in combined 25 points, and Michael Carter-Williams with 7 points and a huge steal down the stretch the Orange advanced to the Big East Tournament semifinals.

"It feels great, I'm happy for my teammates, happy for myself and coach, it's just a great feeling, but we're not done yet, "Michael Carter-Williams says. "It's definitely given us more confidence, we're just going to go out there and play hard, and we're going to give it all we got."

The Orange plays their third game of the season against Georgetown at 7:00 p.m on Friday on ESPN.
