CARRIER DOME -- Cattoni Holden scored the first goal of the game for Johns Hopkins in the first period, but the Syracuse Orange scored 6 unanswered goals, an edge they never vanquished, defeating the #4 Blue Jays 13-8.

After the first period, the Orange and Blue Jays each scored 7 goals, but because of the early advantage, the Orange were able to stay ahead.

"Offensively we had a game plan going out there, the guys were really moving well off the ball, anytime a team is moving like we were, all six guys, it makes it hard for a defense to focus on sliding, as a result of that I think that's why we were able to put some of the goals up there," SU head coach John Desko says.

Scott Loy scored 3 goals, while Henry Schoonmaker scored 2 in that big first period. Hakeem Lecky continued the spread out offense, scoring his first 2 goals of the season. Senior Jojo Marasco led the team with 3 assists.

The Orange improves to 4-1 on the season, and travel to Providence, RI on March 19th to play the Friars at 7 p.m.
