James Southerland could not be stopped.

The senior from Bay Shore, NY scored 35 points, with 9 three pointers in a 91-82 victory over Arkansas on the road as part of the Big East-SEC challenge.

Not to be outdone, Michael Carter-Williams almost registered a triple-double. The sophomore scored 17 points with 10 rebounds and 9 assists, not to mention three steals in the winning effort.

It was a game where Southerland's hot shooting spotted the Orange an early double digit lead, and while the Razorbacks never let SU pull away, Syracuse never relinquished the lead.

C.J. Fair and Brandon Triche eached scored 14 points, Triche connected twice from deep to give the Orange 11 three pointers on the day.

Arkansas was paced by B.J. Young who scored 25 points, but his effort was not enough to match Southerland's, or enough to get the Razorbacks over the top.

With the win, Syracuse improves to 5-0 on the young season and Jim Boeheim earns win number 895 of his career. SU's next game is Monday, against Eastern Michigan in the Carrier Dome. Should SU continue its winning streak, Jim Boeheim would earn his 900th win against Detroit on December 17th
