BALDWINSVILLE -- Tyler Rouse, a star running back from Baldwinsville, will soon be suiting up for one of the Syracuse Orange's historic rivals.

Rouse will sign his National Letter of Intent to play football for Boston College on Wednesday afternoon at C.W. Baker High School.

The 5’8”, 220 pound Rouse was named the 2012-2013 Gatorade New York Football Player of the Year in December, the first to be chosen from Baker High School, according to Baldwinsville Central School District.

The District says that Rouse rushed for 2,977 yards and 45 touchdowns on 333 carries this past season, leading the Baldwinsville Bees to the Class AA Section III final. Rouse finished his high school career with 6,841 yards rushing, the fourth-highest total in New York State history.

The ceremony is planned for Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Baldwinsville’s Emma Firenze will also be on hand to sign her Letter of Intent to play soccer at Syracuse University.
