You'd be hard pressed to find a more excited high school football team in Central New York.
When I stopped by the Henninger Black Knights football practice on Tuesday everyone was excited, they had a bounce in their steps and you could hear it in their voice. Even Head Coach Dave Kline.
"This is football it's the best time there is of any time of year" said Kline.
The veteran Henninger coach admits his team is young, but he's encouraged by the leadership he has in a core of senior players including playmaking senior Chris Hicks.
However, the young players will have to grow up fast. Kline points out that the parody in Section III is very tough as evidenced by the Black Knights' September 1st season opener against Liverpool (1:00 p.m., Sunnycrest Field)
But for now, it's all about steadily improving and the Knights are focused on camp.
And by listening to the interviews in the video above, it sounds like they're having a good time doing so.
