WESTMORELAND, ONEIDA COUNTY -- New York State Police tell Action News that former Syracuse University basketball player Joshua J. Wright was arrested and charged with one count of felony fourth degree grand larceny. Police allege that the 22-year-old Wright is connected to the theft of a credit card. The card was reportedly stolen from a vehicle on the New York State Thruway in the Town of Westmoreland.

Wright, who currently lives in Utica, was a standout guard for Proctor High School and attended Syracuse University from 2004-2008 where he played for the Orange basketball team. He left the team and school midway through his senior year for undisclosed reasons.

Wright is scheduled to appear in Town of Westmoreland court on August 27 to answer the larceny charge.
