SYRACUSE -- Not knowing who the next head coach of Syracuse University will be is not a concern for Garrett Barnas. As we told you Monday night, the two-time junior college All American quarterback is making a verbal commitment to play for the Orange. The history and tradition at Syracuse University had him sold.

"It's a huge opportunity to be able to come in here and play at Syracuse", says Barnas, "with the tradition you guys have had this is pretty amazing. You know it's really surreal to me that I'm going to be able to go in there and, you know, hopefully live up to the name of Syracuse and everything like that."

Barnas will enroll at SU in January as a junior, meaning he will be able to compete right away at the quarterback position that was in flux this past season. Barnas set school records at Harper Junior College at Illinois for passing and rushing yards. The 6'1", 195 pound quarterback passed for 5,418 yards, 47 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,333 yards and 17 touchdowns giving up 20 interceptions.
