SYRACUSE -- While the Orange players were not guilty of "looking ahead" to this weekend's Memphis game in Wednesday night's 82-60 win over Canisius, that did not stop Head Coach Jim Boeheim from at least planning ahead. Rick Jackson received a solid 21 minutes of playing time, often with two other big guys Arinze Onuaku and Paul Harris on the floor at the same time. It was Jim Boeheim's intention of getting the big lineup used to each other as we head towards Saturday's road game against Memphis, a team much bigger than many of the opponents SU has been facing so far.
Jackson took full advantage of the opportunity on Wednesday night, dropping 14 point and adding 8 rebounds. The opportunity also gave Paul Harris some room of the transition, finishing the night with a double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds.
"I like it man, I ain't gonna lie", said Harris after the game, "that's a big lineup, I don't have to rebound as much, but I kinda did rebound a lot, but I like that lineup I really do."
The Orange travel to Memphis to face the Tigers on Saturday. The game tips off at 6:00 pm eastern on ESPN.
