SU Women's Head Basketball Coach, Quentin Hillsman, joked that Nicole Michael has a head start on her modeling career, referring to the fact she's been all over the National Sports shows and newspapers this week. But following a 53 point loss to UConn, Michael and Syracuse may be more intent on getting back into the win column. The Big East Conference announced on Tuesday that neither Michael or UConn Head Coach Geno Auriemma will be punished following an incident after Saturday's game where both appeared to be shouting at each other. The incident ended with questions as to whether or not Michael purposely tripped Auriemma.
Following the Big East decision, Hillsman said he did not plan on punishing Michael either. "She felt she didn't do anything intentional, says Hillsman, "and as soon as she said that, I let it go because I really trust Nicole."
Michael was very pleased before practice on Wednesday that no punishment was handed down in the incident. "I get to play, I'm happy ...I'm a happy person. I mean, I'm sure it will light a fire under my feet just to play harder and play stronger and just to be a better player overall."
The Orange are currently 2-and-3 in Conference play and host Pittsburgh next on Saturday at 1 PM.
