MEMPHIS, TN -- The Syracuse Orangemen will take on the Oklahoma Sooners this evening in Memphis, Tennessee. Tipoff time is scheduled for 7:27. It's the first time the two teams have met since the NCAA tourney in 2003. You remember what happened then? The Orange beat the Sooners while on their way to their only NCAA men's basketball championship.
SU is hoping to repeat that feat this year. Already three other Big East Conference teams that played last night have advanced to the Elite Eight; Connecticut, Pittsburgh, and Villanova.
Now to get you ready for tonight's big game, WTVH-TV CBS 5 will air a one hour pre-game special "March to Motown" airing at 6pm. Matt Mulcahy, Michael Benny, and Niko Tamurian will broadcast live from the Waterfront Tavern in Brewerton. They'll be joined by Sports Director John Evenson and Alex Dunbar with reports from the Fed Ex arena in Memphis. The special will take you right up to CBS Sports pre-game coverage at 7pm.
