VESTAL, NY (AP) -- Binghamton University's beleaguered men's basketball program is down another coach.

Julius Allen, an assistant since 2007, will no longer serve in that capacity. Interim athletic director Jim Norris announced Wednesday that Allen would be given a different assignment within the program. That role was being discussed and could be completed by next week, according to university spokeswoman Gail Glover.

Allen served as an assistant at various Division I programs before joining the Binghamton staff of Kevin Broadus in 2007. Broadus was placed on paid leave in October in the wake of an NCAA recruiting violation and an investigation by the State University of New York into the men's basketball program.
