PHILADELPHIA, PA -- According to a report on ESPN.com, the FBI has been enlisted by Philadelphia police to investigate the fatal July shooting of a convicted drug dealer, and whether the shooting is connected to a previous shooting where the victim claimed he was shot by former Syracuse University and Indianapolis Colts star wide receiver Marvin Harrison.

According to ESPN the victim, Dwight Dixon, was shot in his car on July 21, 2009 just blocks away from a car wash owned by Harrison. The victim told police at the scene that he thought the incident was linked to a previous shooting in the same neighborhood in April, 2008.

The 33-year-old Dixon went into a coma before he could be interviewed by police, and then died on September 4, 2009. Philadelphia police say the investigation is still "open and active." Harrison has denied comment through his attorney.
