SYRACUSE -- Lending his name to a good cause Monday, Syracuse University head football coach, Doug Marrone, was named honorary chair for this year's Vera House's White Ribbon campaign.

The campaign is lead by concerned men locally, looking to raise awareness and funds to stop domestic and sexual violence.

Vera House provides a 24 hour crisis, support and information line and emergency shelter, to ensure families are safe from violence.

During the ten-day campaign, which will run from April 9 through April 18, people are encouraged to wear a white ribbon.

By wearing the ribbon, you pledge to never support, commit or remain silent about abuse.
