Just like the Orange, the Cornell Big Red has a connection with their first round opponent.

When the Big Red take the court Friday afternoon against Temple, Cornell Head Coach Steve Donahue will see a familiar face on the opponent's sideline.

Temple Head Coach Fran Dunphy was the head coach at the University of Pennslyvania. Donahue was an assistant coach under him for ten years, and has nothing but admiration for his old mentor.

"He's a close as it gets in the business to me. He's been great to me, he gave me my opportunity. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Fran Dunphy."

Cornell is the 12 seed in the East regional.

This will be the Big Red's first game against Temple in program history.
